Snake 3D: A Beginner’s Guide to Surviving Longer
Learn the camera
The default overview camera shows the whole board, which is best while you learn. Press C to try the follow camera once you are comfortable. Both show the same board, so pick whichever helps you judge distances.
Turn early
The most common mistake is waiting until the last tile to turn. Because the snake queues your next two turns, you can press a direction a moment early and it will happen on the right tile.
Use the edges wisely
Walls are deadly in this game, so avoid trapping yourself against them. Move in wide, lazy loops while the snake is short, and switch to a tidy zig-zag pattern once it grows long.
Boosts and gems
Slow Time is excellent when the board gets crowded. Ghost mode is the escape button for when you have boxed yourself in. Shrink gives you room, and golden gems are only worth the detour when the path is safe, since they vanish after about seven seconds.
