About the game
Neon Turret Defense is a wave shooter on a glowing pastel arena, with a short story intro. You control a single turret guarding a crystal core in the centre. Colourful drones, fast darts, armoured tanks and splitting orbs close in from every side, and bosses arrive at intervals. Your turret fires by itself, so all you do is aim. Between waves you choose an upgrade, and the points you earn unlock new weapons in the armory.
How to play
- Move the mouse or drag your finger to aim the turret; it fires automatically
- Use the left and right arrow keys or A and D to aim with the keyboard
- Tap the glowing Nova button once it is fully charged to blast the arena
- After each wave, choose one upgrade card to power up your turret
- Open the armory (gear button) to pick an unlocked weapon; press P or Esc to pause
Scoring
Every enemy you destroy adds to your score, tougher enemies are worth more, and clearing a wave gives a bonus that grows with the wave number. Kills also charge the Nova blast. You also earn lifetime points that unlock new weapons, and these are saved on this device.
Tips and tricks
- Aim slightly ahead of fast darts, because they move quickly toward the core.
- Save your Nova blast for a crowd or a boss rather than using it as soon as it is ready.
- Unlock a new weapon in the armory early; a better weapon helps more than a small upgrade.
- If your core is low, take a repair upgrade before another damage upgrade.
Frequently asked questions
- Do I need to press a button to shoot?
- No. The turret fires automatically whenever enemies are on the arena. You only need to aim.
- What happens when an enemy reaches the core?
- It damages the core. When the core integrity reaches zero the game is over, and you can start a new run straight away.
- Does it work on a phone?
- Yes. Drag your finger to aim and tap the Nova button. It needs an internet connection and a recent browser. Sound can be switched off with the music button.
- Are my weapons saved?
- Yes. Unlocked weapons, your lifetime points and your best score are saved in your browser on this device.
