About the game
Star Blaster is a 3D space shooter with a short story intro. You pilot a jet through waves of alien drones while your guns fire automatically, so you can focus on dodging and positioning. Armoured tanks shoot back, and every so often a huge boss arrives with a health bar and a spread of glowing shots. The coins you earn can be spent in the hangar on new jets and weapons, and on one-use boosts.
How to play
- Move the mouse, drag a finger, or use WASD and the arrow keys to fly
- Your guns fire by themselves, so you only need to steer your ship
- Open the hangar from the menu or game-over screen to buy jets, weapons and boosts; the game pauses while it is open
- Pick up crates that drift down the screen for temporary power-ups
- Use the speaker button to mute the sound
Scoring
Every alien you destroy adds to your score, tougher enemies are worth more, and each boss is worth a large bonus. Your best score is saved on this device, and the coins you collect are used in the hangar.
Tips and tricks
- Stay near the middle of the screen so you can dodge in either direction.
- Kill tanks early, because they shoot back once they get close.
- Save a Nova Bomb for a boss fight to take a large chunk off its health bar.
- Spend coins on a better weapon first; a stronger gun makes every wave easier.
